Reserve a booth at the Harvard Flea Market
The Harvard Flea Market—to be held Saturday, Oct. 10—is taking booth reservations, which cost $50 for Harvard/Still River/Devens residents. The market draws thousands of visitors and features a food court and 170 booths filled with antiques, collectibles, clothes, jewelry, artwork, and more. Funds raised through the booth rentals benefit the Harvard Schools Trust and the Harvard League of Women Voters.

Traffic advisory
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation has announced that a lane on Interstate 290, westbound, will be closed from now until Monday, Aug. 24. The closure applies to one of the three lanes between McKeon Road and Hope Avenue and is for the purpose of repairing the bridge in the Worcester College Square area.
Community Harvest Project seeks volunteers
The Community Harvest Project, which grows food for hunger relief, will soon be harvesting apples at its new property at 115 Prospect Hill Road. The Prospect Hill Road farm was donated to the nonprofit group in November 2014. Apple-picking volunteers are needed on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays beginning Monday, Aug. 31. Individual volunteers are encouraged to help, as are groups of up to 25 people, such as clubs, workplace groups, sports teams, and other affiliated groups. U.S. Dept. of Justice Sponsors Drug Take-Back Day
Harvard police have announced that, as part of a national “Take-Back Initiative,” they will be accepting expired prescription medications from residents on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. No liquids or sharps can be accepted, but the U.S. Dept. of Justice says the program otherwise “offers people a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs.”
