The girls’ track team celebrated victories last week against Gardner, Narragansett, and Tyngsborough with scores of 98–45, 87–58, and 114–31, respectively. Bromfield competed in a dual meet at Gardner’s track on Tuesday, May 5, and then went on to race at McCurdy Track on Thursday, May 7, in a tri-meet against Narragansett and Tyngsborough. The team is undefeated for the season.

Bromfield’s relays took first place against all three teams. The A-teams for both the 4×100-meter and 4×400-meter relays have been consistently victorious this season, proving a steady source of points even though the composition of the teams may change.
In individual events, several athletes placed first against Narragansett and Tyngsborough in Thursday’s tri-meet. Junior Amy Hunter placed first in the 100-meter dash against both teams with a time of 12.9 seconds; seventh-grader Tessa McClain took first in the 200-meter at 26.5 seconds; senior Brianna Harte threw 83 feet 11 inches for first in discus; sophomore Grace Turnbull jumped 4 feet 10 inches in high jump and placed first; and freshman Arielle Sclar vaulted 8 feet for a first in pole vault. Freshman Chloe Alfieri placed first against both teams in three individual events: the 200-meter at 26.5 seconds, the 400-meter at 1 minute 1.5 seconds, and the long jump at 14 feet 6 inches.
Bromfield will face Oakmont at McCurdy Track on Thursday, May 14. On Saturday, May 16, the team will compete at Lunenburg’s track in the annual District Class meet.
