This week police made six motor vehicle stops, which resulted in three citations and three verbal warnings. The ambulance crew responded to four medical emergencies and took four people to the hospital.
Tuesday, March 3
Responding to an emergency call at 12:45 a.m., fire department personnel went to a home on East Bare Hill Road and assisted with an overpressurized boiler that was giving off a large amount of steam. At 8:21 p.m. a motorist called looking for help with his car, which had gone off the road and was stuck in a snowbank. Police called a tow company to winch the vehicle out and stood by with the driver until the car was freed.
Wednesday, March 4
At 7:24 a.m. a caller on Depot Road reported taking in two dogs—a husky and a lab—that had been wandering around the neighborhood. Police advised the caller to contact the animal control officer. A caller reported low-hanging wires over Ayer Road at 2:53 p.m. Police notified Verizon and National Grid to take care of them. At 3:38 p.m. a motorist called to inform police that his car was disabled on Old Littleton Road and that a tow truck was en route. A motorist walked into the police station at 4:29 p.m. to report having accidentally struck some wires with his truck on Still River Road near Elm Street. National Grid was on the scene; Harvard officers provided a police detail to close down the area until repairs were completed. At 8:31 p.m. a motorist reported that his car was disabled on the Route 2 overpass on Ayer Road after losing a tire. He told police that AAA was en route, but his car was in a dangerous location. An officer stood by to direct traffic until AAA arrived to tow the vehicle. At 9:11 p.m. police went to the aid of a motorist on Still River Road who had been accidentally locked out of a car.
Thursday, March 5
Bolton police called at 6:17 a.m. looking for backup while they investigated an alarm in that town, but they later called to cancel the request. At 7:45 p.m. a caller reported a disabled car at the General Store and said that AAA was on the way. The caller said that a small car had overheated in the center of town, and some bystanders were able to push it off the road.
Friday, March 6
At 7:48 p.m. a Boxborough resident called to alert police about a dog that had gone missing. Police notified the animal control officer.
Saturday, March 7
At 9:57 a.m. a caller reported a speeding car being driven erratically on Still River Road. Police did not locate the vehicle. However, a short time later, a woman stopped at the station with concerns about the mental state of her son. After speaking with the woman, police determined that the man in question was the same one earlier reported to be driving erratically, and they called state, Bolton, and Boxborough police to help search for him. After a five-hour search, the man was located in Harvard and was taken by ambulance to Emerson Hospital. Police issued him a summons on several charges, including negligent operation of a motor vehicle, speeding, failing to stop for police, and disorderly conduct. At 3:09 p.m. police served a restraining order requested by Ashland police to a Woodside Road resident. At 8:52 p.m. someone called to speak with an officer about a restraining order in a separate case.

Monday, March 9
At 3:42 p.m. a caller reported a disabled car in a hazardous location on South Shaker Road. Police ordered a tow truck. Someone called at 4:27 p.m. to report a car being driven erratically and speeding on Stow Road. The vehicle was not located.
