John Burns, of East Bare Hill Road, told the selectmen that he was stepping down from the Community Cable Access Committee, which oversees HCTV programming and production. Selectmen Chairman Stu Sklar complimented Burns on his hard work for the committee over the past three years and said he would be missed.
Littleton Road resident Hakan Sahin stepped forward to fill the post. Sahin said he had been thinking about volunteering for the cable committee since he moved to town 10 years ago from Canada, where he had experience in television production. He decided to wait, he said, until he became a United States citizen, which he did three years ago. Sahin also frequently draws editorial cartoons for the Harvard Press. The selectmen approved Sahin’s appointment unanimously.
