On the road with the COA

Seniors have the opportunity to visit Overlook Farm/Heifer International in Rutland, Mass., on Wednesday, March 18. Heifer International’s goal is to empower families to turn hunger and poverty into hope and prosperity by teaching people in third-world nations how to grow gardens and raise farm animals for food. Visitors to the farm will begin with a brunch of homemade pancakes with real maple syrup (produced on the farm) and homemade sausage (also produced on the farm). Following brunch, there will be a short video and a tour of the farm. The van will leave Hildreth House at 10:15 a.m. and will return around 2 p.m. The cost of this trip is $25, which includes the brunch. Payment is due by March 4.
