This week police made eight motor vehicle stops, which resulted in three citations, one verbal warning, and one summons. There were no motor vehicle accidents. The Harvard ambulance responded to two emergency calls and took two people to the hospital.

Wednesday, Dec. 10
At 8:54 a.m. a caller reported a limb down on wires on Bolton Road. An officer was able to remove the hazard. Someone called at 8:37 p.m. to report a disabled car on Littleton Road, but the responding officer was not able to locate the vehicle.
Thursday, Dec. 11
At 7:45 a.m. a caller reported that a carpet service van was parked in the grass by Westward Orchards Farm Store. The investigating officer spoke to the driver of the van, who said he was there to go hunting. The officer confirmed that the man had the owner’s permission to hunt there. An officer on patrol stopped to investigate an occupied car parked parallel to the post office on Ayer Road. The officer was concerned because the woman appeared to be slumped over the wheel; it turned out she was only texting.
Friday, Dec. 12
Concerned that there could be a theft in progress, a caller reported at 6 a.m. that a vehicle parked at Hillside Garage had its hood up. The investigating officer reported that it appeared that a mechanic at the garage had been doing some work on the vehicle and had neglected to put the hood down. The officer secured the vehicle. A Littleton Road resident called at 4:20 p.m. seeking permission to have an outdoor cooking fire.
Saturday, Dec. 13
An officer on patrol at McCurdy Track at 2:09 a.m. stopped to investigate three youths in that area. They told the officer they had just been “hanging out,” but the officer advised them there was no trespassing at the track at that hour. The officer subsequently gave the boys a ride home. At 4:59 a.m. an officer on patrol stopped at Westward Orchards Farm Store to investigate an occupied truck parked there. The officer spoke to the driver, who said he was making a delivery to the store. However, a check of the truck’s plates showed that the vehicle’s registration had been suspended. The officer confiscated the plates, and the driver made his own transportation arrangements. No citations were issued. At 11:10 p.m. an officer on patrol stopped to investigate a car parked at the overlook on Prospect Hill Road and advised the occupants to move along, because it was after hours for public access there.
Sunday, Dec. 14
At 12:57 p.m. someone called to complain about a car traveling on Still River Road. Police were unable to locate the vehicle. At 9:20 p.m. police received a call about suspicious activity on Littleton County Road but upon investigation determined that the report was unfounded.
Monday, Dec. 15
At 12:58 p.m. someone called with suspicions about a car on Whitney Road, but police were unable to locate the vehicle. An Abbot Lane resident called at 1:19 p.m. to report a larceny. The case is under investigation.
