Prepare for winter
The Council on Aging wants to make sure that seniors are ready for the winter. The youth group from Holy Trinity Parish is packing and delivering “Blizzard Bags” to senior citizens in Harvard. These bags come with a list of items to have on hand in an emergency and are filled with donations from area agencies for Harvard seniors. Many thanks are due to this energetic group of students for their hard work and to departments and area agencies for their donations to this worthy project. Wanted: Gamesters of all ages
Social connections are important at any age, but they become even more so as we get older. We need to make new friends and keep the old. What better way to interact with others than through food and good old-fashioned games? Come to the Unitarian Church Fellowship Building at 7 Elm St., 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday evening, Dec. 4, to match wits with friends, meet new people, and enjoy hearty hors d’oeuvres. Let your creativity and healthy competitiveness play out in Balderdash, Scattergories, Monopoly Empire, Charades, Battleship, and more. The evening is sponsored by the Council on Aging and Friends of the COA and is part of the evening series “Networks for Connecting and Well Being.” An RSVP would be appreciated but is not necessary.
