A bare quorum of the Board of Selectmen met Monday afternoon, Nov. 10, and took the final step to allow the town’s newest restaurant, Siam Pepper on Ayer Road, to serve beer and wine. The three selectmen present—Ron Ricci, Stu Sklar, and Ken Swanton—officially issued the restaurant’s liquor license. A photo of the license was promptly posted on Siam Pepper’s Facebook page.
Chairman Sklar said he hoped the ability to serve alcohol would be a boost for a local business. “We’ve already had two businesses fail in that location,” he said. “This helps them [Siam Pepper] succeed.”
The Board of Selectmen had previously approved the restaurant’s application for a license. That application then went to the state Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission, which granted the license and returned it to the selectmen for them to sign and issue.
