This week police made six motor vehicle stops, which resulted in three citations or written warnings, two verbal warnings, and one arrest.
Tuesday, May 27
A Finn Road resident called at 7:28 a.m. to report suspicions about someone in a car parked on the side of the road. The car was gone when police arrived. At 9:19 a.m. a resident called to report that some items were missing following a wedding the previous Saturday. An Abbot Lane resident called at 4:18 p.m. to report a violation of a restraining order. Police subsequently served a man with a summons for that offense. At 4:23 p.m. a Stow Road resident called to report suspicious transactions on bank statements.
Wednesday, May 28
At 12:23 a.m. Boxborough police called to request backup in dealing with a suspect they thought to be armed with a rifle. Police say it turned out that the individual had a BB gun and there was no cause for concern. A Pinnacle Road resident called at 6:01 p.m. to report that someone claiming to be a police officer had left a phone message for him.
Thursday, May 29
At 8:53 a.m. a caller reported that a landscaper’s truck was parked in a hazardous location on Oak Hill Road. The driver was asked to move the vehicle. A Simon Atherton Row resident called at 11:27 a.m. with concerns about her daughter’s ex-boyfriend being in the yard. Police advised the man to leave and not return. They also gave the caller information about abuse prevention rights
Friday, May 30
The ambulance crew responded to a medical call at 8:05 a.m. and transported a man to UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester, with an Advanced Life Support paramedic on board. While the Harvard ambulance was occupied with that call, the Boxborough ambulance responded to a medical emergency at Shaker Hills Golf Course at 9:25 a.m. and took a man to Nashoba Valley Medical Center. At 10:08 a.m. a caller advised police that there was a large branch in the roadway on Mass. Ave. The call was referred to the Mass. Dept. of Transportation, which has responsibility for that road. An officer responded to the scene of a two-car accident on Ayer Road at 10:14 a.m. and cited a driver for following too closely, causing what police say was a minor fender-bender. At 10:30 a.m. a Harvard woman told police that her iPad had been stolen during a recent trip to California. Police recorded her report and gave her a copy to forward to police in the California jurisdiction where the theft allegedly took place. At 10:42 a.m. a Harvard woman called to file a report about a scam wherein her house, which was for sale, had been listed for rent by an unknown person on a website. She told police that she contacted the site owner and explained that the ad was fraudulent, after which the ad was taken down. Emergency personnel responded to a medical call at Bowers Brook apartments on Ayer Road at 11:29 p.m., but the patient refused treatment. At 12:19 p.m. a caller reported that wires were arcing on Littleton Road, due to fallen limbs. National Grid was notified and the fire department was dispatched to stand by until the situation was under control. Boxborough police called at 6:28 p.m. to request backup in addressing a mental health situation. At 7:19 p.m. an Old Littleton Road resident called with concerns about an unfamiliar car that had stopped in the driveway, dropped off a man, and left. Police did not locate the car. A resident on Littleton County Road called at 9:27 p.m. to report that a car alarm was sounding in the area. Police say the noise had stopped by the time they arrived.
Saturday, May 31
At 7:14 a.m. a caller reported a two-car accident on the Route 2 off-ramp. Police say the accident was minor. At 9:19 a.m. the ambulance responded to a medical emergency on Scott Road and transported one person to Emerson Hospital, with an ALS paramedic on board. An officer on patrol on Bolton Road at 10:11 a.m. came upon a two-car accident that had just occurred. Police say there was no visible damage to either vehicle. A Harvard resident called at 11 a.m. to report a theft that had taken place in Ayer. The person was referred to Ayer police. At 12:03 p.m. emergency personnel responded to a call about an inured bicyclist on Still River Road and took the bicyclist to Nashoba Valley Medical Center. An officer on patrol on Ayer Road at 12:15 p.m. had a near miss with a vehicle that pulled out in front of his car. The officer stopped the car and subsequently arrested Christopher Hubert, 30, of Whitinsville, for operating with a suspended license and failing to yield to a vehicle in the right-of-way. Emergency responders went to the scene of a reported medical emergency on Still River Road at 12:52 p.m., but the patient refused treatment. The ambulance transported a woman to Emerson Hospital from an Ayer Road residence at 2:24 p.m. A Bolton Road resident called at 10:29 p.m. to complain about fireworks nearby. Police checked the area but found nothing. At 10:36 p.m. a Withington Lane resident reported a dog loose in the area. The call was referred to animal control. At 11:42 p.m. an officer stopped to investigate a woman who appeared to be screaming in a car parked on Littleton Road and subsequently arrested Shrewsbury resident Marissa Jane Casillo, 25, on charges of operating under the influence of liquor.
Sunday, June 1
A Bolton Road resident called at 8:04 p.m. to report an injured deer on the side of the road. Police say the deer had apparently just been sleeping and got up and left when an officer arrived.
Monday, May 26
Someone called at 7:17 a.m. to report that a Porta-Potty at the Depot Road soccer field had been tipped over. Police notified the company responsible for the unit. More vandalism was reported at 11:36 a.m., this time on Shaker Road, where someone had “turfed” a lawn by driving a car on it. An Old Mill Road resident called at 3:40 p.m. to report that a construction worker had been speeding on the road in his truck. The vehicle was not in the area when police arrived. A Still River Road resident stopped at the station at 6:42 p.m. to report a possibly fraudulent credit card charge. She later discovered it was a valid transaction. Boxborough police called at 10:57 p.m. asking Harvard officers to watch for a suspicious person. Police did not locate the person.
