Traffic advisories
Sunday, June 15: Traffic will be diverted around the Firefighters Muster, which will be taking place around the Common, from noon until approximately 3:30 p.m. Eastbound traffic on Still River Road will be diverted to Under Pin Hill Road, to Depot Road, and onto Ayer Road. Westbound traffic from the center of town will be redirected to Depot Road, to Under Pin Hill Road, and onto Still River Road.
Sunday, June 29: Pond Road and the beach’s swimming area will be closed for the Lions Club Triathlon from 4 a.m. to 11 a.m. Spectators are encouraged to park away from Pond Road and walk to the beach.
Sign up for lessons at town beach
Residents are advised to sign up now for summer swimming and boating lessons at Harvard’s town beach. Red Cross-certified instructors will teach the lessons, which cost $30 for each two-week session. Lessons run from June 30 through Aug. 6.
Swimming lessons include Water Tots for children 6 months to 4 years and their parents, and swimming lessons for children ages 4 and older. New this year are water aerobics for adults and nature fun and games for kids.
Boating classes include canoeing, kayaking, and sailing classes for beginners and advanced students. This summer the beach staff will also be offering new sailing classes for adults, with the date of those classes to be decided.

Early summer lifeguard hours
For the safety of swimmers, the town beach will be staffed as follows for the early days of summer; additional hours will be added starting Monday, June 30. Parking lot attendants will also be on duty during these hours.
- Saturday, June 14 and Sunday, June 15: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Monday, June 16 through Friday, June 20: 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. (to cover the after-school crowd)
- Saturday, June 21 through Sunday, June 29: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m
