On May 7 Nashoba Nursing Service & Hospice (NNS&H) celebrated its 9th annual Evening of Remembrance, organized and spearheaded by Karen Campbell, CT, Bereavement Coordinator. It was a night to remember the loved ones that are no longer with us in body but remain here in spirit. Candles were lit in honor of our memories, bonds, forgiveness, friendships, nature, loss, life and love. Dr. David Spiegelman, Hospice Medical Director for NNS&H, also belongs to the Threshold Choir which shared its gift of music and voice, bringing a sense of calm and peace to the audience. Hospice volunteers read the names of our lost loved ones. Ellen Sparrow, MSW, read “Water Bugs & Dragonflies” written by Doris Stickney. Chaplain Renee Anderson read a poem written by Karen Campbell, CT, entitled “Never Been So Busy.”
A reception immediately following the service was held for staff, friends, and family as a time to come together and share memories. Special thanks goes to the First Parish Church of Groton for donating the facility for the evening. Thank you to all who attended and participated.
