Babysitting at Town Meeting
Girl Scouts who are working on completing their Babysitting Badges will offer free babysitting services during Town Meeting starting at 7 p.m. in the Bromfield gym on Tuesday, April 1, on Wednesday, April 2, and if needed, on Thursday, April 3. The Girl Scouts will be accompanied by their leaders 100 percent of the time. Leaders are certified in first aid and CPR. Bedtime stories and games will be offered as well as one-on-one attention as needed. Scout leader Janice Kennedy points out that using the baby-sitting service is a good way to support the Girl Scout’s efforts to use their skills and knowledge while attending Town Meeting. NRWA seeks volunteers to monitor water quality
The Nashua River Watershed Association will hold an orientation and training session for people interested in learning more about monitoring the river’s water quality. Interested volunteers may be asked to monitor a new site, join an existing team, or function in a backup role. The session will take place Tuesday, April 1, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the NRWA Resource Center, 592 Main Street (Route 119), Groton. Work begins April 1 on Littleton County Road
The Department of Public Works announces the start of work on Littleton County Road. It will begin on or about April 1 and will continue until the end of July. A closed drainage system will be installed from Trail Ridge Road (60 feet east of it) to the intersection at Old Schoolhouse Road. This section of roadway will be closed Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., for the duration of the project. The road will be open to through-traffic outside the work hours. Residents are urged to find alternate routes.
