Annual Town Meeting to be held Tuesday, April 1, at 7 p.m.
In a break from tradition, Harvard’s Annual Town Meeting will be held Tuesday, April 1, at 7 p.m. in the Bromfield School’s Cronin Auditorium. The meeting will continue on Wednesday, April 2, at 7 p.m. and if necessary, April 3, 7 p.m., until all articles have been voted on. In years past, the meeting was held on a Saturday in the Bromfield gym. Warrants will be mailed to all registered voters before the meeting. Rabies clinic on March 22
The Nashoba Associated Boards of Health, in cooperation with local veterinarians, will provide rabies immunization for dogs and cats Saturday, March 22, from 9 to 10 a.m. at the DPW garage, 47 Depot Road. The charge per immunization is $15. The tag for 2014 will be an orange oval.
All dogs and cats over six months of age, not previously immunized, and those with a green bell (2011) rabies tag, must be immunized. The vaccine provided at this clinic is effective for three years for currently immunized dogs and cats over one year of age. Dogs and cats between six and 12 months and animals with lapsed immunizations must receive a booster within one year of the initial inoculation. They are then protected for three years.
Cats must be brought in cages or closed boxes during the last half of the clinic. To receive the three-year rabies vaccine, pet owners must bring proof of current vaccination. Without the proof, pets will be eligible only for the one-year vaccine.
Meeting for prospective student EMTs
Bromfield students in grades 9 and 10 who are interested in becoming Emergency Medical Technicians for the Harvard Ambulance Service are invited to attend an informational meeting Wednesday, March 19, at 6 p.m. in the Bromfield library.
College Fair
Bromfield juniors are invited to attend a College Fair Tuesday March 25, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Littleton High School gym, 56 King St., Littleton.
Lions Club citrus sale on March 15 and 16
The Harvard Lions Club will sell Valencia oranges and red grapefruit this weekend at the Transfer Station and on the Town Common. Proceeds from the sale support Lions Club charities, including national charities for the blind, visually impaired, and disabled; and local groups including needy families, food pantries, and schools. Prices range from $15 to $38. The citrus fruit will be available at the Transfer Station on Saturday, March 15, and will also be for sale on the Town Common Saturday, March 15, and Sunday, March 16.
Video contest for high school students has March 31 deadline
The Citizen Education Fund of the League of Women Voters of Massachusetts is sponsoring a video contest for high school students. The league is asking students to create two-minute videos to tell the next governor what is on their minds. What’s a big challenge or problem facing the community? What should be on top of the next governor’s agenda? What solutions should be considered? Submissions are due by March 31. For details, visit www.lwvma.org.

The nonprofit conservation group Nashua River Watershed Association (NRWA) has begun its online fundraising auction, offering items such as Red Sox tickets, jewelry, and gift certificates.
