Student Art at Fruitlands
Fruitlands Museum will continue its student art exhibit, which recalls historical folk art, portraits, and landscapes of New England, through March 30. The exhibit features the work of students from 16 communities and includes pieces made in ceramic, acrylic, watercolor, pen and ink, colored pencil, and other mediums.
WinterFest Weekend
Fruitlands Museum will host a WinterFest Weekend, Saturday, Jan. 18, and Sunday, Jan. 19, at noon. Bring sleds, snowshoes, and cross-country skis and enjoy the great outdoors. The fire pit will be blazing, and the art gallery will be open. Admission is $5, free for museum members.
Winter Sports Clinic
Fruitlands Museum will host a a winter sports clinic Saturday, Jan. 18, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the museum. Staff from Eastern Mountain Sports will teach the essentials of snowshoeing and cross-country skiing on the Fruitlands fields. Equipment will be available to try. Free with WinterFest admission.
Teen Crafts
The Harvard Public Library will host “Duct Tape Craft” for grades 6 and up Thursday, Jan. 23, from 2:45 to 3:45 p.m. at the library.

Parents College Prep Night
The Bromfield School will host an informational session on college preparation for parents of 11th-graders Thursday, Jan. 23, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Bromfield library.
Middle School Concert
The Bromfield School Music Department will present middle school students in their winter concert Thursday, Jan. 23, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the school’s Cronin Auditorium. Performers will include the sixth-grade band and chorus, the sixth-, seventh-, and eighth-grade select chorus, and the high school jazz ensemble. The concert is free and open to the public.

The Harvard Public Library will host “Digital Day” at the library Saturday, Jan. 25, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.. Staff will be on hand to demonstrate and help you with your digital questions and devices.
Herbal Medicine Workshop
Fruitlands Museum and the Herbal Community of Central Mass. will present “Making Herbal Medicine the Shaker Way” Saturday, Jan. 25, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the museum. Participants will learn about herbal remedies used by the Shakers and how to dry and store herbs. Admission is $10 for museum members, $15 for nonmembers. Carolyn Waters Trio

The Francis W. ‘Carmina Burana’ at Bromfield

Gardner Museum Heist
The Warner Free Lecture Series will host Boston Globe journalist Stephen Kurkjian Friday, Jan. 31, at 7:30 p.m. at the library’s Volunteers Hall. The investigative journalist, a three-time Pulitzer Prize winner, will present “The Gardner Museum Heist: Boston’s Last Best Secret and Other Tales.” Admission is free.
