COA goes to the movies
Monday, Dec. 9, 1 p.m., Harvard Public Library. The R-rated movie “Love Is All You Need” stars Pierce Brosnan as a middle-aged widower and estranged single father who embarks on a trip to Italy for the wedding of his son, where his fate is intertwined with Ida, his son’s future mother-in-law.
Reserved seating at Christmas Pageant
Seniors are invited to join the community to celebrate a special gift from the children of Harvard Sunday, Dec. 15, at the Harvard Unitarian Church. Two performances of the Ecumenical Christmas Pageant will be presented, at 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. Seating for seniors will be reserved at the 3:30 p.m. performance. Cocoa and cookies will be offered after each performance at the Congregational Church, and the Christmas tree on the Common will be lit after the 4:30 p.m. pageant, at 5:30 p.m.

The “Harvard Sentinel” provides complete information about happenings at Harvard’s senior center, Hildreth House, including services, classes, trips, and the many regularly scheduled events at Hildreth House: lunch, coffee club, bridge, sewing circle, and more. Copies are available at the General Store; Harvard Public Library; Center on the Common (old library); Town Hall; Unitarian, Congregational, and Catholic churches; Westward Orchards; and Hannaford Supermarket in Ayer.
The Council on Aging also welcomes your phone calls at 978-456-4120, should you have any questions at all.
On the road with COA
- Monday, Jan. 13, Yankee Candle Village, South Deerfield. Seniors will tour the village, an unusual place where people of all ages can experience a mix of after-Christmas bargain shopping and entertainment. Lunch is at Chandler’s Restaurant in the village. The cost for the trip is $10, not including lunch. The van will leave Hildreth House at 8:30 a.m. and return at 3 p.m.
- Monday, Jan. 27, Cambridge Brewing Company, Cambridge. Enjoy a 30-minute beer-tasting followed by lunch at the brewery that was voted “Best Brew Pub in America” on chow.com. The cost for the trip is $20.00, not including lunch. The van will leave Hildreth House at 11:30 a.m. and return by 4 p.m.

Holiday Tea
The Girl Scouts of Harvard will host their annual holiday tea for seniors Wednesday, Dec. 18, from 2 to 3:15 p.m. Holy Trinity Parish’s Deacon Hall.
