World traveler, avid gardener and golfer
Jeffrey K. Hartman, 66, of South Shaker Road died suddenly at Nashoba Valley Medical Center in Ayer on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013. He was born in Lancaster, Pa., on Aug. 28, 1947, son of Jane (Horst) Barber and the late John H. Hartman. He grew up in Lancaster and graduated from Pennsylvania State University and later from Tulane University’s business school. He worked for Welch’s in Concord, Mass., as a marketing director for more than 30 years before retiring several years ago. He made his home in Concord before moving to Harvard four years ago.
Jeffrey was an avid gardener, loved golf and photography, and ran several half-marathons. He also loved traveling, and he and his wife traveled around the world. He was a member of St. Theresa’s Parish in Harvard. Jeffrey is survived by his mother Jane Barber of Lancaster, Pa., his wife of 44 years Carol (Cyphers) Hartman of Harvard, and three children: Kelly E. Jork of Andover; Neil J. Hartman of Raleigh, N.C.; and Jacob J. Hartman of Arlington. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Fiona Jork; Thomas Hartman; Anjali Hartman; Madeline Hartman; Benjamin Hartman; Tucker Hartman; and Nolan Hartman.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Holy Trinity Parish, Still River Road, Harvard, on Tuesday, Dec. 17. Visiting hours were held at the Badger Funeral Home in Littleton. Burial was at Bellevue Cemetery in Harvard.
