A resident of Bolton Road called about 12:30 a.m. to ask for help removing an unwanted guest from her house. The individual was taken into custody and released the following morning. His car was towed. No charges were filed. At 7:21 a.m., the ambulance was called to an Ayer Road apartment and a female resident transported to Nashoba Valley Medical Center. One hour later, the ambulance transported another female resident of Ayer Road to Nashoba Valley Medical Center.
Wednesday, August 28
A Brown Road resident called at 4:03 a.m. to report that a burglar alarm had sounded in his home and he suspected someone was in the basement. An officer investigated, but found nothing. At 11:19 a.m., someone reported seeing a dog inside a closed vehicle parked at the UMass medical building on Ayer Road. When an officer arrived, the car was gone.
Thursday, August 29
A motorist called at 8:42 a.m. to report that a speeding vehicle was headed towards Bolton on Bolton Road. The Bolton police were notified. Later that morning on South Shaker Road, the DPW recovered a bike that had been reported stolen from a Mill Road residence nearly two weeks earlier. It was a Masi Alere valued at roughly $1,000. Responding to a 12:31 p.m. call, the ambulance transported a male resident of Lovers Lane to Emerson Hospital. A woman living on Bolton Road called at 12:39 a.m. to report that a strange man was knocking on her front door. An officer went to the scene and determined that he was attempting to make a delivery to a member of her family. The on-duty fire officer was called to a Blanchard Road home at 1:34 p.m. to investigate an odor of burning plastic. He concluded the smell was coming from a septic system pump that needed some attention.
Friday, August 30
Around 1:30 a.m., an officer on patrol checked up on a suspicious vehicle that had pulled over near the intersection of Ayer Road and Old Mill Road. The driver was OK and left shortly thereafter. A female resident of Jacob Gates Road called at 1:18 p.m. to complain of a barking dog in her neighborhood. By the time an officer arrived, the dog had returned home. An officer responded at 5:40 p.m. to a report of an accident near Littleton County Road and Oak Hill Road. A van had collided with a motor vehicle. There were no injuries, but both vehicles were towed. There were no charges.
Saturday, August 31
An Ayer Road resident called at 2:15 a.m. to complain that some equipment had been left outside his apartment. Police contacted the owner and advised him to secure it. At 3:00 a.m., the police had a vehicle towed that they had encountered making their rounds. The car had Florida plates and had been left in the northbound lane of Pinnacle Road, just beyond its intersection with Oak Hill Road. Police had attempted to contact the owner, but got no response. Later that morning, police spoke with the driver of a vehicle parked on Still River Road. A resident had phoned police at 7:25 a.m., concerned about the condition of the operator. But he was found to be OK and after speaking with an officer, the driver, who had been taking a break, was soon on his way. A man living in an apartment on Ayer Road called at 9:00 p.m. to complain that someone living in an apartment on the other side of the road was trying to take his picture. Police determined that no such incident had occurred.
Sunday, September 1
A West Bare Hill resident complained of hearing loud music nearby at half past midnight. When an officer arrived, the neighborhood was quiet. The Stow police called around 10 a.m. to warn police that a website that was posting possibly pornographic materials appeared to be hosted in Harvard. The allegation, which involves a minor, is being investigated. At 1:35 p.m., a woman living near the intersection of Slough Road and Stow Road phoned police to report hearing someone calling for help, which later was found to be coming from a woman who had fallen from her bike. The ambulance transported the victim to Nashoba Valley Medical Center with ALS on board. A Fairbank Street resident called at 3 p.m. to say there was a suspicious person in the neighborhood. It was a man delivering telephone directories. Police responded to a call from a woman living on Willow Road who reported being the victim of an assault and battery attack. A man was arrested and charged with simple assault. He was later released on bail. There were no injuries reported and the victim refused treatment. A motorist driving past the Westward Orchards store at 10 p.m. reported seeing a suspicious van in its parking lot. The vehicle belonged to the farmstand.
Monday, September 2, Labor Day
Police patrolled buildings and grounds throughout the town all day, but there was nothing significant to report.
