Father of two, enjoyed creative arts, motorcycles, and music
Neal E. Cahill, 42, a former longtime Harvard resident, died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington.
Born in Concord and raised in Harvard, Neal was the son of Judith (MacNabb) Cahill of Shirley and the late Dean M. Cahill. Neal attended the Harvard schools and was employed for many years in the landscaping business. He is remembered as a creative person who liked to collect things and could make jewelry and art from ordinary and unlikely items. Neal enjoyed maple sugaring, riding motorcycles, and music, especially songs by Johnny Cash. Every year he made it his mission to have his mother’s flower garden established and blooming.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sons, Jeremy D. and Erik O. Cahill both of Ayer; a brother Glen Cahill of Shirley; a sister Brenda Ogilvie of Ayer; and his former wife Minnie A. (Nau) Cahill of Ayer. He was the brother of the late Paul Cahill and Doreen Crusius.
Funeral services and interment in Bellevue Cemetery will be private.
