Concert and Fireworks at Fruitlands

The Fourth of July Committee and Fruitlands Museum will host a concert featuring local bands followed by a fireworks display. Museum grounds will open at 5 p.m.; the concert will begin at 5:30 p.m., and fireworks are expected to start at 9:15 p.m. Cost to enter is $20 per car, or $10 if anyone in the car is wearing this year’s Fourth of July T-shirt. Thursday, July 4
Great Annual Fourth of July Road Race
- 6:30 a.m. – 5-mile race registration opens
- 8:15 a.m. – 5-mile race
- 9:30 a.m. – 1-mile Fun Run
The races start and end at Hildreth Elementary School

Parade and Field Events
- 10 a.m. – Kids’ bike decorating contest on the Common
- 11 a.m. – Parade starting at Depot Road, ending at the library field
- 12 p.m. – Award ceremony and flag raising, immediately followed by field events at the library field
- 12:15 to 2:30 p.m. – Ongoing activities: greased pole climb, duck pond prizes, tin can knockdown, T-shirt sale
- 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. – Pie-eating contest
- 12:45 to 1:05 p.m. – Candy scramble
- 1 to 3 p.m. – Face painting and tattoos
- 1:05 to 1:30 p.m. – Sack race
- 1:30 to 1:55 p.m. – Three-legged race
- 1:30 to 3 p.m. – Firefighters’ mini-muster
- 1:55 to 2:20 p.m. – Parent-child relay
- 2:20 to 2:40 p.m. – Egg toss
Water and Beach Games
- 1:30 p.m. – Swimming area closed for set-up
- 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. – Games at the town beach: water balloon toss, tug of war, watermelon polo, candy toss, water relays. A small donation will be asked for some games. Lifeguards will be on duty until 6 p.m.
