Would you like to help preserve the rich historic character of Harvard? The Harvard Historical Commission has two openings, one for an architect and one for any interested resident.
Our historic town center is one of the prettiest in New England, and Shaker Village is one of the most intact anywhere. Much of our role is to preserve the architectural integrity of these two gems by managing the review process for any exterior changes, such as the Town Hall renovation now underway.
We also promote historic efforts throughout our town that is graced with so many farmsteads and landmarks. For example, our new website (see link on our page of the town’s website) has detailed histories on hundreds of homes, and our upcoming plaque program will enable homeowners to share a little of the history of their home.
We come from a wide variety of backgrounds and meet on the first Wednesday evening of each month.
