On the road with COA

- Friday, March 8. The COA will tour the Boston Public Library and Trinity Church. The tour will highlight the architecture of Charles Follen McKim and Philip Johnson, as well as the works of famed sculptors and painters. Tour-goers will attend an organ recital at Trinity Church, followed by lunch. The bus will leave Hildreth House at 9 a.m. and return by 3 p.m. Cost is $10, plus lunch.
Emergency preparation checklist
The COA has compiled a list of things to keep on hand in the event of a storm emergency:
- 3 days worth of bottled water (1 gallon per person)
- Non-perishable food and a hand-held can opener
- Flashlights, radio, and extra batteries
- Medications for at least 3 days
- Charged cell phone
- Personal care items
- Important documents and cash in plastic baggies
- Names and phone numbers of emergency contacts
- Gas in cars and for a generator
- Pet and pet care needs
- Salt and/or sand to clear walkways of ice

2013 tax work-off program deadline Thursday
Applications for the 2013 Senior Tax Work-off Program must be completed and returned by Thursday, Feb. 28. The applications are available online at the Council on Aging page at harvard.ma.us or at Hildreth House.
