A Harvard police officer joined officers from Groton, Littleton, Shirley, and the State Police around 8 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 6, to assist Ayer police with a search for a man suspected of robbing Partridge Automotive on Littleton Road in Ayer. According to Harvard Police Officer Daniele Fortunato, the suspect threatened the clerk on duty with a six- to eight-inch knife and demanded cash. The clerk was not injured, Fortunato said, and added that it is not known how much cash was taken.
Police searched the area with a State Police K-9 unit but did not locate the suspect. However, the store’s surveillance video caught a picture of the man, and Ayer police have posted it on their Facebook page (www.facebook.com/pages/Ayer-Police-Department/239859232695911), hoping that the public can help in identifying and locating the man.
