  • Monday, Dec. 31. You don’t have to stay up until midnight to celebrate the New Year. The Council on Aging will celebrate New Year’s Eve in a private dining room on the top floor of the Prudential in Boston. The trip will include a three-course lunch, a panoramic view of Boston, and transportation door-to-door. This is a dressy occasion for all, and only a few seats are available, so call for a reservation. The trip will leave at 10:45 a.m. and return by 3 p.m. The total cost for the trip, lunch, and noisemakers is $60 and must be paid at the time of reservation. The view of Boston is free.
  • Tuesday, Jan. 8. A group will leave Hildreth House at 10 a.m. for a tour of the Boston Globe. The tour begins where machines move rolls to the production line: 26.4 miles of paper.
