At 3 p.m., police responded to an Ayer Road home for a report of a domestic-related incident. Peace was restored, police say. Police informed a resident there how to file for an abuse-prevention order.
Wednesday, Oct. 31
At 5:17 a.m., police investigated a report of a suspicious vehicle parked near the intersection of Finn Road and Withington Lane. Nothing was found, police report. At 5:49 p.m., a woman told police she was driving on Ayer Road and stopped to let a deer cross the road. While she was stopped, the woman said, the driver of a blue sports car went around her and attempted to hit the deer. Police report they were unable to locate the blue sports car.
Thursday, Nov. 1
At 7:48 a.m., a resident of West Bare Hill Road reported a case of mailbox vandalism. Police logged the incident but did not investigate. At 2:40 p.m., Boxborough Police asked Harvard Police to help tow away the car of an unlicensed driver from Codman Hill Road. At 4:30 p.m., a woman came to the police station to report she had seen two young people hanging out at the historic cemetery on Shaker Road where a tree had fallen, damaging several markers. The woman was concerned the youths would steal the markers, police report. Police passed the information on to the Cemetery Commission. At 5:31 p.m., a Harvard man asked police to come to his home because his son was out of control and throwing things. Police responded and report peace was restored at the home. At 5:55 p.m., police responded to the scene of an accident on Massachusetts Avenue involving a single car and a deer. The responding officer had to shoot and kill the deer, police report. There were no human injuries and no significant damage was reported in the accident.
Friday, Nov. 2
At 7:02 a.m., police responded to Depot Road to investigate a report of someone hunting on private property. Police did not locate the reported hunter. At 7:54 p.m., a woman reported a dead dog on Ayer Road. The responding officer reports the dead animal was a beaver. Police contacted the highway department to remove the carcass.
Saturday, Nov. 3
At 4:53 a.m., a man called police and reported he had fallen asleep while driving on Massachusetts Avenue and had crashed into a rock in front of the Hildreth Elementary School. The man was not injured, he told police. The man requested a tow. Police issued him a written warning for falling asleep at the wheel. At 7:22 a.m., a resident of Ayer Road called police to report seeing a light in a barn across the street from her home. The woman said she had never seen a light in the barn before. Upon investigation, police say the source of the light was a reflection of the rising sun. At 7:28 p.m., a Finn Road man told police his daughter had said she saw from her upstairs room someone putting a ladder against the house. Police checked the area, but report finding nothing out of the ordinary. At 8:22 p.m., a South Shaker Road woman told police someone wearing a “Jason mask” had rung her doorbell. The woman said she waved the person away, but was concerned because it was too late for trick-or-treating. Police took note of the incident.
Sunday, Nov. 4
At 2:34 p.m., police investigated a report of a suspicious vehicle parked on Still River Road. The car was being driven by a teenager who had pulled over to answer a cell phone call, police say. At 6:40 p.m., police received a report of a suspicious vehicle parked on Barton Road facing Bolton Road for about 30 minutes. Police checked the area, but the vehicle was gone on their arrival, they say.
Monday, Nov. 5
At 1:43 p.m., a Bolton Road woman told police she was having trouble with a neighbor’s dog. The woman said she had already spoken to the animal control officer but he hadn’t been able to resolve her issue. Police say they told the woman to contact the animal control officer again.
