At 11:41 p.m., police investigated a suspicious vehicle near the intersection of Stow Road and Codman Hill Road, at the Harvard/Boxborough border, and, as a result, arrested Hugh Duffy, 32, of Needham, for operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs, illegal possession of a class E substance, and negligent operation. According to police, an officer observed Duffy pull into the parking lot of a business there that was closed for the night. The officer spoke to Duffy, police say, and he said he used to work for the business but was fired about a year ago. Police say Duffy gave conflicting answers to questions about what he was doing at the business that night. After receiving Duffy’s consent to search his vehicle, police report, they found pills Duffy claimed were prescribed for him, but, police say, the bottles weren’t labeled correctly. Duffy failed a field sobriety test, police report. Duffy was arrested and transported to the police station where he was released on bail early Wednesday morning, police say.
Wednesday, Nov. 14
At 6:24 a.m., State Police asked Harvard Police for help with a pursuit on Route 2. The suspect being pursued was stopped before Harvard could respond, police report. At 9:53 a.m., a South Shaker Road woman filed a formal report on a case of breaking and entering from earlier in November.
Thursday, Nov. 15
At 9:34 a.m., a resident of Old Mill Road reported damage to her property by a truck that had driven down the road in an attempt to access Devens. The caller gave police a license plate number, but police say it did not match any plate on record. At 1:20 p.m., a woman came to the police station to report that someone had attempted to break into her car at her home on Ayer Road. The door to the car appeared to have been forced open, police say, but nothing was missing. Police have no suspects in the case. At 7:49 p.m., police responded to a report of a door open at an apartment on Ayer Road. The lock to the door was not functioning correctly, police say. Nothing else was out of order.
Friday, Nov. 16
At 2:52 a.m., an officer performing a building check at the Harvard Fire Station on Elm Street discovered a man sitting in his car in the parking lot there. The man, a Harvard resident, had been drinking, police report, but not enough to be impaired. Police took the man into protective custody, had his car towed, and released him in the morning. At 9:59 p.m., police stopped a driver for speeding on Route 2 westbound and issued him a summons for driving with an expired license.

Sunday, Nov. 18
At 1:26 a.m., police investigated a suspicious vehicle parked on Ayer Road. The driver was waiting for a friend, police say.
Monday, Nov. 19
At 8:43 a.m., a Harvard resident who was traveling out of the country called police and asked them to check on his mother, a Bolton Road resident, who had not returned calls. Police say the man’s wife made contact with his mother before they arrived at her home. She was fine.
