Bromfield Drama Society Presents ‘The Life of Galileo’
For its first production of the 2012-13 school year, the Bromfield Drama Society, directed by George Kendall, will present “The Life of Galileo” by Bertold Brecht Friday and Saturday, Nov. 9 and 10, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 11, at 1:30 p.m. at the Cronin Auditorium. The post-World War II play highlights Galileo’s pursuit of scientific truth while under a cloud of suppression by the Catholic Church. Tickets are $5 for students and senior citizens and $10 for adults.

The Harvard PTO will run its annual Scholastic Book Fair Tuesday, Nov. 13, through Tuesday, Nov. 20, weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Hildreth Elementary School library. Fair Trade Fair
The annual Fair Trade Fair will be held Sunday, Nov. 18, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Fellowship Building on Elm Street. Certified fair trade vendors from around the world will sell items made by women in developing countries who use the proceeds to help support their families and educate their children. The fair is free and open to all. It is sponsored by the Unitarian Universalist Church of Harvard and its Social Action Committee.
Oxbow Guided Trail Walk
The Nashua River Watershed Association will lead a guided trail walk at the Oxbow National Wildlife Refuge Sunday, Nov. 18, from 1 to 2 p.m., unless there is a heavy storm. The Oxbow NWR has a variety of ecosystems—river, wetland, forest and field—and is home to a vast array of wildlife. The walk is free and open to the public—except dogs. Walkers should meet in the refuge parking lot at the bottom of Depot Road in Still River. Preregistration is encouraged for planning purposes, and for notification in case of cancellation. Fanfare Home Concert
Fanfare will present The Armen Donelian Trio Sunday, Nov. 18, at 5:30 p.m. at Fanfare’s next home concert. The trio intends to use the open rehearsal format to explore its forthcoming album, a blend of Armenian roots with deep currents of modern jazz. Joining Donelian will be George Schuller on drums and Dave Clarkon on bass. The concert will include an opportunity to visit with the artists and enjoy food and wine. ‘Murdered to Death’ in Littleton
Former Bromfield theater teacher Michael McGarty is directing a production of the comedy “Murdered to Death.” Actors include Bromfield teacher Martha Brooks and senior Dan Jackson. A Bear Affair

Participants will look for bear clues in the woods and learn all about bears and their adaptations using skins, skulls, and tracks.
