Lois (Dickson) Glenzel, of Hingham, passed away peacefully on Oct. 12, 2012, at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth.
She leaves her beloved husband, Harold, of Hingham, son Steven and his wife Katherine also of Hingham; daughter Karen Bellino of Simsbury, Conn.; four grandchildren; Matthew Glenzel of Hingham, Abigail Glenzel of Mechanicsburg, Penn., Benjamin Adams and his wife Sherry of East Granby, Conn., and Jonathan Adams of Jacksonville, N.C. She is also survived by great-granddaughter Elizabeth Louise Adams of East Granby, Conn.
Born in Harvard, Lois and her husband moved extensively throughout the eastern United States during their 61 years of marriage, 23 of which were spent in Naples, Fla. They cruised and traveled extensively throughout Europe, the United States, Australia, and New Zealand.
An avid bridge player, she started playing with her parents and brother when she was 8. She played golf for 55 years, most recently as a member of the Cohasset Golf Club and Naples Heritage Golf and Country Club in Florida. She sailed with her husband out of the Hingham Yacht Club and the Portland, Maine, Yacht Club for many years. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Florence Crittenton League, and the Order of the Eastern Star.
A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, Oct. 20, at 10 a.m. at the Linden Ponds Performing Arts Center at the Derby Club House at Linden Ponds, Hingham.
Interment will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 20 at the Bellevue Cemetery in Harvard, Mass.
