Council on Aging barbecue
Come enjoy a good old-fashioned barbecue on the Hildreth House porch, with hot dogs, hamburgers, and other typical picnic fare. The big event will take place on Friday, Aug. 24, at noon and is offered by past and present Council on Aging volunteers.
Call 978-456-4120 to reserve your space by Friday, Aug. 17, so the COA can make sure to buy enough food.

- Friday, Sept. 7. The Council on Aging will take a guided tour of “Ansel Adams—at the Water’s Edge” at the Peabody-Essex Museum in Salem. His photographs of beaches, bays, tidal pools, clouds, and waterfalls create a body of work that is steely and muscular, full of energy and dynamism. The group will also have access to the entire museum for a total cost of $25. The trip will leave Hildreth House at 9 a.m., will have lunch following the tour, and should be back by 3 p.m.
- Thursday, Sept. 20. It’s “Massachusetts Day” at the Big E., the Eastern States Exposition. It’s a New England extravaganza with the Village Museum, competitive animal displays, rides, a daily parade, and foods from around the world. The group will leave Hildreth House at 8 a.m., and the cost for the admission and van is $25. We will leave the Big E at 3 p.m.
