At 9:10 a.m., police received a report from the fire chief that he had observed a driver backing out of the scene of a one-car accident. Police say they intercepted the vehicle and arrested the driver, Carrie Edmonds, 42, of 47 Ann Lees Road, Harvard, for leaving the scene of property damage, operating a vehicle to endanger, operating a vehicle after having her license revoked, and operating without a license. According to police, Edmonds damaged a stone wall belonging to someone else. Her car was towed away. There were no injuries reported in the accident.
Wednesday, Aug. 22
At 8:02 p.m., police responded to a report of a domestic incident at a home on Park Lane. Police say the incident was a verbal argument and they informed both parties of their rights.
Thursday, Aug. 23
At 1:13 a.m., police investigated a suspicious motor vehicle parked in the lot in front of the Harvard General Store on Still River Road. Police say they sent the vehicle on its way. At 5:35 p.m., Bolton Police requested Harvard Police’s help at the scene of a reported burglary. Bolton canceled the request while Harvard was en route, police say. At 9:42 p.m., after discovering its registration was exempt and non-renewable, police had a vehicle towed from a parking lot on Massachusetts Avenue. At 11:09 p.m., police investigated a suspicious motorcycle on Ayer Road. Everything checked out, police report.
Friday, Aug. 24
At noon, a Stow Police detective reported to Harvard Police that he was passing through Harvard and he noticed a vehicle parked at conservation land on Finn Road that matched the description of a vehicle suspected to be involved in a case of robbery a few months ago. Harvard Police took the vehicle’s license plate number and said they will be keeping an eye out for it. The registered owner of the vehicle has a criminal record with several entries, police say. At noon, a resident of Old Littleton Road told police two boys from the area came to her door to give her phonebooks. The woman told police the incident seemed odd. Police say they tried, but were unable to contact the boys. At 6:15 p.m., a college called police to report someone making suicide threats. The person in question was located in another city, police say, and the police in that city took over the case.
Saturday, Aug. 25
At 12:56 a.m., police investigated a report of a suspicious vehicle coming out from behind the Harvard Historical Society building on Still River Road. The vehicle belonged to a Milford Man who was delivering beehives, police say. At 2:46 p.m., a resident of Stow Road said someone he didn’t know had been going into his neighbor’s mailbox. Police say they were unable to locate the person. At 7:28 p.m., police pulled over a car for going 51 miles per hour in a 35 mile-per-hour zone on Still River Road and arrested the driver, Alexander Kappos, 53, of Holden, for operating under the influence of alcohol, operating to endanger, and speeding. Kappos failed field sobriety tests, police say. At 8:16 p.m., police investigated a report of a man trying to flag down passing drivers on Ayer Road. According to police, the man’s car was disabled and assistance was en route.
Sunday, Aug. 26
At 1:55 p.m., someone turned over to police an envelope containing $20, found on Ayer Road. The money is still at the police station, police say. At 9:49 p.m., a resident of Old Littleton Road reported hearing glass smashing in the area. Upon investigation, police say, they discovered a broken bottle but no one around.
Monday, Aug. 27
At 8:16 a.m., a resident of Woodside Road reported someone taking pictures of her home from inside a vehicle. Police report the vehicle was gone on arrival. At 5:38 p.m., someone came to the police station to speak to an officer about damage to a canoe that had occurred a few weeks earlier.
