Rabies immunization
The Nashoba Associated Boards of Health, in cooperation with local veterinarians, will provide rabies immunization for dogs and cats. All dogs and cats over six months of age, not previously immunized, and those with a blue rosette (2009) rabies tag, must be immunized. The vaccine provided at Nashoba Clinics is effective for three years for dogs and cats over one year old and currently immunized. Dogs and cats between the ages of six and 12 months and those who have let their immunization lapse must receive a booster within one year of the initial inoculation. They are then protected for three years.
All dogs and cats must be immunized against rabies.
Cats must be brought in cages or closed boxes during the last half of any clinic. The tag for 2012 will be a red heart. The charge per immunization is $10. Residents of Nashoba member towns may attend any of the following clinics. All pet owners must present to the participating veterinarian proof of current vaccination to receive a three-year rabies vaccination. Failure to do so will result in the pet receiving a one-year vaccination.
Immunization will be provided in Harvard on Saturday, March 24, from 9 to 10 a.m. at the town garage.
Well Adult Clinic
Nashoba Associated Boards of Health, in conjunction with the Harvard Board of Health, announces that a Well Adult Clinic will be held on Tuesday, March 20, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Hildreth House, 15 Elm St., Harvard. Drop in for blood pressure, pulse screening, and diet teaching. No appointment is necessary.

Judges needed for library’s Lego Expo
On Saturday, March 24, the Harvard Public Library will hold its fourth annual Lego Expo, to which children bring Lego constructions of their own design to share with others and to be judged. The Expo is approaching fast, and the library needs adult judges with expertise in architecture, carpentry, engineering, art, design, and Legos to serve as judges for all age groups. Judges may volunteer for just one age group, or may volunteer to judge at two or even all three age groups.

MBTA public meeting
The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority will hold a public workshop on its proposed fare increases and service changes in the public library auditorium in Fitchburg, 610 Main St., on Wednesday, March 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. A detailed report on these proposed changes is available at mbta.com.
According to the MBTA: “Comments at all meetings will be considered by MBTA staff members and the board of directors for further action.”
