This year’s Devens Charity Chili Cook-Off was another great success! On Sunday, Oct. 9, over 600 people gathered on Devens Common to taste all the delicious chili from 16 different contestants. Congratulations to the team from Holmes Auto Repair (booth #4) for serving up the first-place chili for the second year in a row! Kevin Scott and Brian Hanson from Holmes Auto in Pepperell generously donated their cash prize to the Autism Resource Center again this year!
Also a big congratulations to Lisa, Monica, and Kathy (booth #5) for a very close second place finish!
A special thanks to all the chili makers for their efforts in creating a great day, especially Linda Yantz, Spring Hill Suites Marriott, Ben Dawes, Amy Wexler, David Sullivan, Joseph’s Bistro, Bailey’s Bar and Grille, Patrick Crockett, Jose Banch and Michael Harmon, Sue and Mike Ciufetti, Melissa Fetterhoff, Arthur Anderson, Lisa March, and Mia McDonald. Without all your generous efforts we would not be able to raise so much money!
All attendees enjoyed a fun day of festivities including face painting, great music, and of course, spectacular chili! A big thanks to all three bands that played: the Gary Wilson Band, White Collar Criminals, and Lost. The music was excellent!
All proceeds from the event are being donated to the Autism Resource Center of Central Massachusetts. They are a wonderful organization that helps families and neighbors deal with this overwhelming issue in our region.
Without the generous contributions of local businesses we could not have been so successful. Thank you to Health Alliance Hospital, Nashoba Valley Chamber of Commerce, Integra Companies, Workers Credit Union, and all the dozens of local supporters for our raffles!
