Had many friends in senior activities

M. Loretta (Tamme) Fath, 98, of Harvard, died Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011, at Life Care Center of Nashoba Valley, Littleton.
Her husband, Dr. August F. Fath, died in December 2004.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, A. Frederick and Kathryn Fath of Seattle, Washington, and Dr. John J. and Camille Fath, of Beverly Hills, Michigan; two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Mike Griesbach of Harvard, M. Susan and Patrick Ryan of Woodland Hills, CA; and a sister, Ruth Kriener of Kentucky. She also leaves 16 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
She was born in Danville Kentucky in 1913 in a family of one brother, Jesse, and four sisters, Ruth, Margaret, Helen, and Wilhemina. She attended college in Danville at Centre College and finished her nursing degree in Cincinnati, Ohio. She married Dr. August Fath in 1936 and lived in Fort Thomas, Kentucky until World War II. During the war, she moved her family as August was stationed at various hospitals in California and Oregon as part of the Army-Air Force. After the war, they moved to Kalamazoo, Michigan, where August established a medical practice and they had two more children. She volunteered for both hospital and Catholic Church organizations and eventually became the office manager for her husband’s medical practice until they retired.
After they retired, they moved to Danville, Kentucky, where they built a new home and lived there for 10 years. Mrs. Fath and her husband then moved to Harvard and lived with their daughter Barbara Griesbach and her family. She attended St. Theresa’s Church in Harvard and had many friends in senior activities.
A funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, Oct. 19, at St. Theresa’s Church, Still River Road, Harvard. Burial is in Bellevue Cemetery, Harvard.
