At 9:05 a.m., police investigated a report of illegal trash dumping along Shaker Road. The debris included beer cans and appliances. Upon investigating the trash, police discovered the name of an Ayer resident and contacted the person. Police checked back later and report the trash had been picked up. At 10:25 p.m., a resident of East Bare Hill Road called police to report his or her neighbors were on vacation, but two cars had just pulled into the driveway and people were walking around in the yard next door. Police say they contacted the registered owners of the cars and cleared the area. No more information is available.
Tuesday, August 9
At 8:11 a.m., police investigated a claim of vandalism and property damage at a home on Old Littleton Road. According to police, a company that had been hired to erect a stone wall at that location had left out two Bobcat machines overnight and in the morning two traffic cones were on top of one of the Bobcats and the other was covered in toilet paper. In addition, police say, there was some damage to the stone wall and stones from the wall were on the driver’s seat of one of the machines. The Bobcats were not damaged, police say. No one was charged in the incident. At 12:24 p.m., a resident of Whitman Road reported two missing kayaks: a red and a blue single-seater, both Perception brand. At 11:08 p.m., police got a request from Littleton Police to help at the scene of a car accident on Route 2 westbound. Littleton Police canceled their request shortly after.
Wednesday, August 10
At 9:09 p.m., the Massachusetts State Police forwarded a 911 call from a Blanchard Road resident to Harvard Police. The caller reported returning home and hearing a loud noise upstairs. Officers checked the home and found nothing unusual, police say.
Thursday, August 11
At 8:20 a.m., a security company reported a burglar alarm going off at the Oak Ridge Observatory on Pinnacle Road. Police checked the building and found nothing unusual.
Friday, August 12
At 12:39 a.m. police arrested a Stow Road resident after investigating a report of a vehical rollover. (See story ) At 2:48 p.m., someone walked into to the police station to report suspicious activity near the intersection of West Bare Hill and Bolton roads. According to police, the person said a man in a gray car with New Hampshire license plates was driving around the neighborhood looking at houses. Police did not find the car in the area.
