10:30 a.m.: Reading of “The Unanimous Declaration of the Thirteen United States of America,” in front of the old library

Pond Committee announces weed pull
The Bare Hill Pond Watershed Management Committee announces that a Water Chestnut Weed Pull will take place Saturday, July 16, from 9 a.m. to noon. Water chestnuts are an invasive species that can be easily removed by volunteers in canoes and kayaks. Their removal is important to keep the pond healthy. Volunteers should meet at the town beach. Town canoes are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Cultural Council seeking new members
The Harvard Cultural Council is looking for interested people to join the largest grassroots cultural funding network in the nation supporting community-based projects in the arts, humanities, and sciences. Each year, HCC awards grants to cultural programs that benefit the residents of Harvard, including concerts, festivals, lectures, theater, dance, music, and film. Projects take place in schools, community centers, libraries, elder care facilities, town halls, parks, and wherever the community gathers. There are currently two vacancies beginning in fiscal year 2012. Members are appointed by the Board of Selectmen for a three-year term, and the commitment consists of three to five meetings per year, mostly in the autumn. - Bare Hill Pond Watershed Management Committee: two three-year terms; one student member
- Community Cable Access Committee: three three-year terms; two one-year student members; one one-year alternate
- Council on Aging: one three-year term
- Energy Advisory Committee: one one-year term; three one-year associate members; one one-year student member
- Finance Committee: one three-year term; one one-year term; two one-year associate members
- Fourth of July Committee: volunteers always needed
- Transfer Station Committee: two vacancies
- Zoning Board of Appeals: one alternate
