At 11:02 a.m. Mass. State Police called for Harvard firefighters to extinguish a small fire in the eastbound lane of Route 2. An officer on patrol at 3:21 p.m. noticed fires burning in two 55-gallon metal drums at a Bolton Road residence. Upon investigation, the officer found that household trash was being burned in addition to brush, and notified the fire chief, who reminded the homeowner that burning household trash outside is not allowed.
Friday, March 25
At 4:42 p.m. the animal control officer reported that two dogs had killed 20 chickens on Murray Lane. The case is under investigation. At 10:47 p.m. a Littleton Road resident reported that a pickup truck had pulled up the driveway, retreated, returned, and ultimately left. Police did not locate the vehicle.
Saturday, March 26
A caller reported at 11:50 a.m. that something seemed to be burning in the area of Brown Road. The officer who responded found no smoke or fire in the area. At 1:13 p.m. police found drugs and drug paraphernalia on South Shaker Road. Harvard police assisted Boxborough police with a welfare check at 5:55 p.m. Police stopped a van for a traffic violation at 6:26 p.m. and issued a summons to the driver after discovering the registration had been revoked for being uninsured. The vehicle was towed.
Sunday, March 27
Harvard police assisted Ayer police in responding to the report of people with flashlights in the woods at the Ayer Rod and Gun cub at 2:49 a.m. The source of the lights were Boy Scouts camping in the area.
Monday, March 28
At 11:57 a.m. an Ayer Road resident reported that someone had come to the house and when there was no answer at the front door the person went to the back of the residence, then ultimately left. Police notified the Ayer Police Department to be on the lookout for the person. At 3:15 p.m. someone turned in at the station a black GM key found on the Common. It is still at the station. At 5:10 p.m. a caller reported that a vehicle with flashing red lights had passed him on the way to Littleton. Police notified Littleton police.
