Over this past year, as a new School Committee member, I have had the privilege to learn from other, more experienced members of local government. More than ever, I understand how very fortunate we in Harvard are to have the dedicated, caring individuals who listen to our community, and who stand up and volunteer countless hours for the benefit of our town. Ron Ricci is one of these people.
Ron Ricci reaches out to our community—our entire community. He carefully listens to many voices, as he tirelessly considers varied perspectives and the facts before making decisions. He holds paramount the idea that quiet voices must be heard among the louder voices. Most recently, by example, I witnessed Ron work respectfully, intelligently and diligently at a Board of Selectmen meeting to ensure that the public would have the democratic opportunity to consider options for our municipal buildings at annual town meeting.
Ron offers balance. His down-to-earth, approachable, practical, and gentlemanly manner is consistently evidenced at every single Board of Selectmen meeting. We need Ron Ricci’s experience and informed voice of reason to continue sitting solidly at the BOS table. I urge Harvard voters to join me, as a fellow and longtime citizen of Harvard, in reelecting Ron Ricci for Board of Selectmen.
