The ambulance transported a woman from a Still River Road residence to Nashoba Valley Medical Center at 4:57 a.m. At 1:45 p.m. a caller reported that 250 bales of Canadian hay, valued at $1,500, had been stolen from a stable on Bolton Road. It is suspected that the hay was stolen over a period of time. The case is under investigation. At 3:10 p.m. a man stopped at the station to meet his annual obligation to register as a sex offender.
Wednesday, December 22
A woman was taken to Emerson Hospital by ambulance from a Woodside Road residence at 12:41 p.m. Slippery road conditions caused a string of accidents during the late afternoon. At 4:45 p.m. a caller reported that a car had gone off the road near West Bare Hill and Bolton roads. The car was gone when police arrived. At 4:56 p.m. a car skidded off the road into a tree on Littleton Road. The car was towed. There were no injuries, and no citations were issued. At 5:18 p.m. a car slid off the road into a stone wall on Brown Road after the driver lost control of the vehicle on the icy road. There were no injuries, and damage to the car was minor. The driver was able to drive the car away after it was winched out. At 6:08 p.m. a car skidded off the road at a corner on Old Littleton Road and hit a stone wall. The car was towed. There were no injuries, and no citations were issued. At 8:46 p.m. firefighters were called to a Shaker Road home after the fire alarm there was accidentally activated. Someone stopped at the station at 9:20 p.m. to report a past motor vehicle accident.
Thursday, December 23
An officer on patrol at 1:19 a.m. stopped to investigate an occupied vehicle parked on Pond Road and asked the driver to move on. At 8:07 a.m. a car slid off the road into a utility pole on Old Littleton Road. There were no injuries, and no citations were issued. However, the car and the utility pole suffered extensive damage. The car was towed; National Grid was called to take care of the pole. At 8:24 a.m. a car went off the road on Tahanto Trail and hit a tree. There were no injuries, and no citations were issued, but the car was towed. A key that was found and turned in at the station at 1:33 p.m. is still at the station to be claimed. The ambulance took a woman to Emerson Hospital from an Oak Hill Road residence at 10:47 p.m.
Friday, December 24
Boxborough police called at 2:39 a.m. to request the assistance of a Harvard officer at a traffic stop in Boxborough. At 3:06 a.m. Boxborough police called again, to request assistance with a disturbance at a residence. Boxborough police notified Harvard officers to watch for a car being driven erratically, which was headed to Harvard from Boxborough. The driver was suspected in a road rage incident in Boxborough. Police did not locate the car. Police went to an Ann Lees Road residence to investigate after someone there reported hearing gunshots at 10:35 p.m. Police checked the area but found nothing unusual and heard nothing.
Saturday, December 25
A caller reported at 9:15 a.m. that there was black smoke in the sky on Littleton County Road. Police determined it was coming from a building over the town line, in Boxborough, and notified the Boxborough Fire Department. The ambulance took a man to Emerson Hospital from a Bolton Road residence at 12:29 p.m.
Sunday, December 26
An officer on patrol at 9:56 a.m. stopped to investigate an occupied vehicle parked in the cemetery on Still River Road. The driver subsequently left the area. The ambulance transported a woman to Emerson Hospital from an Ann Lees Road residence at 10:15 a.m. A deer escaped serious injury during a collision with a car on Still River Road, reported at 11:35 a.m. The driver was not injured, and there was no damage to the car. At 4:10 p.m. a Mill Road resident reported that there were all-terrain vehicles in the area. Police found that the ATVs were properly registered and the drivers were operating on their own property, so no action was necessary. At 9:09 p.m. a caller reported that a car went off the road on West Bare Hill Road, but the car was gone when police arrived to investigate.
Monday, December 27
At 3:40 a.m. police stood by on traffic detail while a tow truck assisted a snow plow that was stuck. The ambulance took a woman to Nashoba Valley Medical Center from a Still River Road residence at 10:29 a.m. Someone stopped at the station at 1:43 p.m. seeking information about a no-trespass notice.
Tuesday, December 28
A Madigan Lane resident called at 11:53 a.m. to report the possible theft of several items. He later called back to say he had located the items, which had been misplaced. At 3:01 p.m. the Mass. Environmental Police requested the assistance of Harvard officers in locating a vehicle connected in an environmental violation. The vehicle was not located; the case is under investigation. A Littleton County Road resident called at 7:36 p.m. to express concerns about hunters who had parked near his driveway. Police located the hunters and spoke to them and the homeowner to resolve the issue. No action was needed. The ambulance took a woman to Emerson Hospital from a Woodside Road resident at 9:08 p.m. Police responded to the report of a single-car accident on Littleton Road at 11:36 p.m. and cited the driver, a juvenile, for operating to endanger, speeding, failure to keep right, and for violating a junior operator restriction on having a passenger in the car. The driver and the passenger were both taken to Nashoba Valley Medical Center; the car was towed.
Wednesday, December 29
A South Shaker Road resident called at 9:42 a.m. seeking advice regarding a lost foreign passport. At 11:15 a.m. Bolton police asked Harvard officers for assistance in responding to a burglar alarm in Bolton. At 3:45 p.m. a caller reported that there was a person at a Candleberry Lane residence who was the subject of an active arrest warrant. Police determined that there was no arrest warrant open on the person in question. At 4:15 p.m. a caller asked to speak with an officer regarding concerns about a Charter repairman. Police determined that there was no reason to be concerned. The ambulance transported a woman to Leominster Hospital from a Stow Road residence at 4:30 p.m. A caller on Ayer Road reported at 5:27 p.m. suspicions about a car that had pulled into the parking lot, then left when he went out to investigate. The car was gone when police arrived.
Thursday, December 30
A Slough Road resident called at 2:48 p.m. to report that a man was selling food door-to-door in the area. The man was gone when police arrived to investigate. At 3:03 p.m. a woman reported that her horse had been grazed by a passing car while she was walking it on Bolton Road. She said the driver had stopped when he realized what had happened. The horse was not injured, and no charges were filed. Police believe solar glare was a factor in the incident.
Friday, December 31
Police responded to the scene of a two-car accident on Pond Road near Mass. Ave., reported at 6:28 p.m. There was minor damage to the cars; there were no injuries, and no citations were issued. At 10:39 p.m. a Slough Road resident reported a chimney fire in the home. Firefighters responded and extinguished the blaze.
Saturday, January 1
An officer on patrol at 12:45 a.m. found a car parked in a dangerous spot on Still River Road. The officer contacted the homeowner and asked that the car be moved. The ambulance took a woman to Leominster Hospital from a Depot Road residence at 11:37 a.m. At 12:56 p.m. a Littleton Road resident reported two dogs missing. At 3:07 p.m. Boxborough police requested assistance in investigating a home found with an open door. The building was checked and found to be secure. The owner arrived on the scene while police were there. At 10:44 p.m. police responded to a 911 call regarding an assault at a Whitney Road residence. (See story)
Sunday, January 2
The ambulance transported a man to Nashoba Valley Medical Center from an Ayer Road address at 6:14 a.m. A Fairbank Street resident called at 4:58 p.m. to report that there was an unwelcome guest parked in the driveway. Police responded and spoke to the resident and the driver. The uninvited person left without incident.
Monday, January 3
At 11:01 a.m. a Lancaster County Road resident reported a possible burglary. Police responded and found that the damage to the garage door, which had prompted the concern, appeared to have been caused by a snowplow, rather than a burglar. A computer flash drive found at the Oxbow parking lot at 4:55 p.m. is still at the station waiting to be claimed. At 5:38 p.m. the ambulance transported a juvenile from a Craggs Road residence to Emerson Hospital.
