Wright would bring fresh insight to School Committee

April 16, 2010

Kirsten Wright will make an excellent School Committee member. I have known Kirsten for six years and have served with her on the Hildreth Elementary School Council for two years.

After meeting her for the first time, I told my sister how impressed I was by her—she was so thoughtful, sweet and intelligent. My sister, like Kirsten, was an English teacher, and I, like Kirsten, am artistic. We both love books, art, and kids. Over the next few years, whenever our paths crossed we found ourselves chatting about our kids, soccer, books, and education in general. I learned that Kirsten is passionate and positive about whatever she does.

Since being on the HES School Council with Kirsten, I have really grown to respect her commitment to our kids, the teachers, our schools, and our town. I love how she takes a stand for what she believes in, while continuing to listen and be open to all other perspectives. Kirsten is very persistent, ethical, and respectful. She thinks, feels, and cares deeply. I am certain Kirsten would offer a unique perspective if voted onto the School Committee. She is a loving parent with a strong background as an educator. She cares about what I care about—kids, teachers, the schools, and Harvard as a whole. She really would bring a fresh insight, enthusiasm, respectfulness and passion to our School Committee.
