A wide range of licenses granted
The Board of Selectmen (BOS) approved an unusual number of licenses at its April 27 meeting, including one for the Apple Blossom Festival, two for selling beer and wine, and one for a lemonade stand.
The selectmen signed off on two licenses for the sale of beer and wine in town; however, they will not issue any license until all conditions have been met and the licensing fee paid.
The lemonade vendor’s license went to Charlene Eckl vanderVaart, who will have a stand on the Common either June 6 or June 13, as a benefit for two children with cancer.
New member joins the Conservation Commission
Conservation Commission Chairman Paul Willard introduced Lewis Bielman, who has recently moved to Harvard from Florida. Bielman has extensive experience with water conservation and wetlands issues. The selectmen thanked Bielman for volunteering to join the commission and voted to approve his appointment.
The selectmen also voted to approve a conservation restriction for the Dean’s Hill area, moving forward a process that has been under way for nearly a decade.
