A South Shaker Road resident called at 3:08 a.m. to report that someone in a passing car had thrown fireworks onto the end of his driveway. Police did not locate the vehicle. Police responding to a reported disturbance at an East Bare Hill Road residence escorted one person from the house, and later issued a “no trespass” order to that person. At 8:55 a.m. a spate of vandalism on Westcott Road was reported; there were apples in one mailbox, feces in another, and a “yield” sign in a driveway. A Littleton County Road resident called at 9:41 a.m. to request assistance with a cut finger, but refused transport to the hospital when the ambulance arrived. The ambulance took a woman to Nashoba Valley Medical Center from a Blanchard Road residence at 5:33 p.m.
Wednesday, August 26
Police stopped a car for a traffic violation near the Bolton town line on Bolton Road and issued a summons to the driver for operating without a license. At 5:28 p.m. a car struck a telephone pole on Lovers Lane after swerving to avoid a squirrel. There were no injuries; the car was towed. Police responding to an incident reported at a Stow Road residence at 6:59 p.m. arrested a man for domestic assault and battery and assault with a dangerous weapon. The ambulance transported a man to Emerson Hospital from Fruitlands Museum at 8:56 p.m.
Thursday, August 27
The ambulance responded to the scene of an accident on Route 2 at 10:47 a.m. and transported one person to Nashoba Valley Medical Center. A woman stopped at the station at 1:40 p.m. to report that “no trespassing” signs on her property had been vandalized, and that she had found evidence of people shooting weapons on her property. Someone called the station at 2:35 p.m. to report suspicions about a man who had stopped at a restaurant looking for a ride to Worcester. Police determined that the man did not pose a threat to anyone, and gave him information on contacting a taxi. At 4:34 p.m. someone stopped at the station to report a threatening phone call received from a relative. The situation was resolved when the family member called to apologize.
Friday, August 28
A caller at the Bromfield School reported at 6:35 a.m. that someone had vandalized two cars parked there by letting the air out of the tires. A Littleton Road resident called at 8:10 a.m. to report suspicions about a car that had pulled into the driveway. The car was gone when police arrived. A bicyclist on Old Littleton Road reported at 3:17 p.m. that a man in a white car had thrown an iced tea can at him. Police did not locate the vehicle. At 5:16 p.m. a woman reported that, while she was walking her two dogs, a passing motorist had yelled out the window at her. Police identified the motorist and spoke to him about the incident. Someone stopped at the station at 5:35 p.m. to report an unauthorized withdrawal from his bank account.
Saturday, August 29
Firefighters responded to the scene of a two-car accident on Route 2 at 1:12 a.m. and extinguished the fire that had engulfed one of the vehicles. An officer on patrol at 4:06 a.m. requested the assistance of other officers in apprehending a teenager wearing a Bromfield jacket; the teen ran in the opposite direction after spotting the officer. Police were unable to locate the teen. The ambulance responded to a Route 2 accident scene at 4:02 p.m. and transported one person to Emerson Hospital. A Blanchard Road resident reported hearing six gunshots near his home at 5:50 p.m. Police checked the area, but did not locate the source of the noise. A caller on Old Shirley Road summoned the ambulance at 5:59 p.m. after a man in the house had become unresponsive. The man was conscious when the ambulance arrived, and he refused treatment. At 10:22 p.m. a caller reported that a car was driving on the field in front of Bromfield. Police did not locate the vehicle.
Sunday, August 30
At 1:59 a.m. a Myrick Lane resident reported that someone had bashed in his mailbox. At 9:36 a.m. a custodian at the Bromfield School reported that vandals had entered the building during the night and had removed a fire extinguisher, some radios, and supplies from the art room. Police are investigating. At noon a caller reported seeing a car swerve into the guard rail on Bolton Road. Police did not locate the car, and did not find any damage to the guard rail. At 5:05 p.m. police responded to the scene of a single-car accident that occurred on West Bare Hill Road after the driver suffered a seizure and lost control of the car, which struck a stone wall. The man was taken to Emerson Hospital. At 5:30 p.m. a caller reported that there were people sleeping in a minivan with its doors open at Ayer and Old Mill roads. Police did not locate the vehicle. At 10:16 p.m. an officer on patrol stopped a car he saw driving behind Bromfield, and asked the occupants what they were doing. They said they were cutting through the parking lot; the officer advised them to move along.
Monday, August 31
One person was taken by ambulance to Leominster Hospital from an Ayer Road residence at 7 a.m. At 7:13 a.m. the facilities manager at Bromfield reported that the school grounds had been vandalized during the night. He said there were tire marks on the grass from the tennis courts to the road, and there was also damage to the grass in front of the library. Police are investigating. At 11:25 a.m. a woman reported that, three days earlier, a man driving a white sedan had pulled up behind her, and the man had called her over to his vehicle. She had called a friend to come get her; she did not get the license plate number of the white sedan. At 5:39 p.m. the ambulance took one person to Leominster Hospital from the scene of an accident on Route 2. An East Bare Hill Road resident called at 5:50 p.m. to complain that a youth about 17 years old was riding a mini bike with a loud muffler on that road. Police did not locate the biker. At 10:17 p.m. Bolton police advised Harvard police to watch for cars that were seen damaging lawns in Bolton and thought to be headed toward Harvard. Harvard police located the cars and advised Bolton police, who followed through on the case.
