At 8:56 p.m. the ambulance transported a woman to Emerson Hospital from a Mass. Ave. residence.
Wednesday, August 19
An officer on patrol at 2:15 a.m. noticed a leaking hose at the elementary school and left a message for the Maintenance Department. Another officer on patrol at 2:41 a.m. discovered a pothole on Littleton County Road and left a message about it for the Department of Public Works (DPW). At 9:30 a.m. a DPW worker notified police that signs had been stolen from a work site on Fairbank Street. A caller reported at 2:25 p.m. that a blue pickup truck was being driven erratically on West Bare Hill Road, and had forced his car off the road. Police checked the area but did not locate the truck. At 2:36 p.m. a caller on Old Littleton Road reported that youths were skateboarding in the road. Police did not locate the skateboarders. At 8:41 p.m. a driver on Ayer Road reported that his car had just struck a dog. The animal control officer was notified; the dog’s owner picked up the animal.

Friday, August 21
A driver stopped at the station at 7:03 p.m. to report that a tree limb had fallen onto his vehicle during the wind storm as he was driving on Brown Road. Police notified the DPW at 7:07 p.m. that a tree had fallen on that road.
Saturday, August 22
At 7:06 a.m. a caller reported that there were metal signs in the road on Slough Road. Police discovered that the signs were among those stolen from the Fairbank Street construction site on Aug. 19. At 10:32 a.m. police searched the Farmers’ Market trying to locate the owner of a vehicle parked in a well-marked “no parking” area with a dog inside and the windows rolled up. They did not find the owners, but the car was gone when police returned to it. At 11:02 a.m. a caller reported a possible larceny at a farm stand. Police contacted the owner, who was unable to confirm that there had been a theft. A caller reported at 6:29 p.m. that a woman at the town beach was yelling and causing a disturbance. Police found that the woman had entered the water fully clothed and had swum out to the raft, where she sat playing a harmonica. They determined that she wasn’t doing anything illegal, and did not pose a threat to anyone. At 9:40 p.m. a caller in Still River reported hearing loud music emanating from Fruitlands Museum. The officer who responded could hear little noise. A Slough Road resident reported a missing mailbox at 9:50 p.m. Police later found it, along with more signs stolen from the Fairbank Street construction site. At 10:14 p.m. the Still River resident called back to complain about the sound of drums coming from Fruitlands. The responding officer reported that he could not hear the sound from his position at the overlook on Prospect Hill Road. The caller stated, “Per the permit [for Fruitlands] I’m not to hear it.” The activities at Fruitlands concluded by 11 p.m. Police notified the DPW at 10:45 p.m. that there was a tree limb on a wire on Partridge Hill Road.
Sunday, August 23
At 11:15 p.m. an officer on patrol stopped a car on Shaker Road that he thought looked suspicious. The driver reported that he was just turning around in a driveway.
Monday, August 24
At 6:25 a.m. a custodian at the Bromfield School reported that the school had been vandalized over the weekend. Police report that someone had gained entry through a skylight and had done “malicious damage” inside, although nothing appeared to have been stolen. The case is under investigation. At 11:30 a.m. police stopped a car on Ayer Road for a traffic violation, and subsequently issued a summons to the driver for operating with a revoked license. The car was towed; the driver was transported to the Citgo station in Ayer. At 2:44 p.m. a caller reported that nonresidents were rowing on Bare Hill Pond. Police say this is part of an ongoing conflict between the Parks and Recreation Commission and a local rowing club, which allows out-of-town residents as members. Someone called the station at 2:50 p.m. to report concerns about a young child running around naked at a residence on Ayer Road. Police found that the child was in his own fenced-in yard with his mother and sister and determined there was no cause for concern. A caller reported at 8:55 p.m. that a Jeep filled with kids was traveling on Willard Lane, and wanted to know if police could make the young people pick up trash on that road. Police determined that the youths weren’t doing anything wrong.
