Tax payments due in November
The fiscal year 2010 second quarter real estate tax bills were mailed out July 1; payment will be due Nov. 2. Anyone who has not received a bill or needs more information should call Town Hall at 978-456-4100.
Flu clinics to start Oct. 1
Nashoba Associated Boards of Health, in conjunction with the local boards of health, will hold seasonal flu clinics throughout the month of October. Qualifying residents from the member towns can go to any clinic listed below.
- Ashburnham: Tuesday, Oct. 13, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Senior Center, 1 Memorial Drive
- Ashby: Tuesday, Oct. 6, 10 a.m. to noon at the library and Thursday, Oct. 15, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, New Ipswich Road
- Ayer: Wednesday, Oct. 21, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Senior Center, 18 Pond St.
- Berlin: Thursday, Oct. 1, from 9 to 11 a.m. at First Parish Church, Central Street
- Bolton: Thursday, Oct. 15, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Senior Center, 600 Main St.
- Boxborough: Wednesday, Oct. 14, from 11 a.m. to1 p.m. in the United Church vestry, 723 Mass Ave.
- Dunstable: Wednesday, Oct. 7, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Town Hall, Main Street
- Groton: Wednesday, Oct. 28, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Senior Center, 163 West Main St.

- Shirley: Thursday, Oct. 1, from 10 a.m. to noon at Town Hall, Keady Way, and Tuesday, Oct. 20, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Shaker Meadows, Harvard Road
- Townsend: Wednesday, Oct. 7, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Senior Center, Main Street, and Wednesday, Oct. 14, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Atwood Acres, Dudley Road
Flu vaccine is available to children age 6 months through 18 years; adults age 50 years and older; health-care providers; household contacts; caregivers of children up to 5 years of age; and people at risk of complications from influenza—pregnant women and persons with long-term health problems, weakened immune systems, or muscle or nerve disorders, or those who are on long-term aspirin treatment. Tetanus and pneumonia vaccines will also be available.
The flu vaccine is a covered benefit under Medicare Part B and Managed Care. Patients covered under these plans are asked to bring their Medicare or Managed Care cards to the clinic. There will be no charge for the vaccination. The administration of the vaccine is covered by most health insurers.
