Fruitlands Sundown Concerts
Fruitlands will host the final Sundown Concert of the season Wednesday, Aug. 26, at Fruitlands Museum. The Love Dogs will perform blues, New Orleans rhythm and blues, and early rock ’n roll. Bromfield Rowing Open House
Bare Hill Rowing Association will hold an open house for potential Bromfield rowers Saturday, Aug. 29, at 10 a.m. at the town beach. Rowers will have a chance to talk with coaches and students and to go out on the water and row with experienced Bromfield rowers. Battle of the Bands
The Battle of the Bands will be back at the Harvard Lions Club’s annual Fall Festival Friday, Sept. 18. Its sponsors, the Harvard and Bolton Police departments, are accepting applications for the 10 bands that will compete. Trophies will be awarded to the top three bands chosen by audience appreciation. Nashoba Valley Band Concert
The Nashoba Valley Concert Band will perform a free concert Friday, Aug. 21, at 6:30 p.m. at the bandstand on the Westford Common in Westford. The 40-member community band will play popular tunes, including show tunes, marches, and Americana. (8/21)
Stow Chorus Rehearsals
The Sounds of Stow Festival Chorus rehearsals will begin begin Monday, Aug. 31, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the First Parish Church in Stow center. The 2009–2010 season, the chorus’ 31st season, will continue to perform works celebrating Mendelssohn’s 200th anniversary with “Psalm 42” and “Von Himmel Hoch” perfomances this fall. 2010 performances will include Durufle’s “Requiem,” Faure’s “Cantique de Jean Racine,” and a joint concert with Harvard Pro Musica.
