Tuesday, April 28: Wires were reported down on Lovers Lane at 12:50 p.m. Police notified Verizon and Charter Communications. A woman stopped at the station at 3:26 p.m. to report that her car had been tailgated by a car being driven aggressively. She provided the plate number of the car in question to the officer on duty, who said he would follow up on the matter. At 4:15 p.m. a caller reported a possible brush fire on Still River Road. Firefighters responded and found smoldering embers from a permitted fire that had been extinguished earlier in the day. They hosed it down again. A man was taken by ambulance from an Eldridge Road address to UMass Medical Center in Worcester at 4:19 p.m. A caller reported a possible brush fire on South Shaker Road at 4:20 p.m., but responding firefighters found no fire. At 4:50 p.m. a South Shaker Road resident reported that she had just returned home from work and found her house had been burglarized. The case is under investigation. (See related story).
Wednesday, April 29: At 2:27 p.m. a caller reported that a woman who had been staying at the St. Benedict Abbey was missing. Police found that the woman had returned to her home in another town without telling anyone she was leaving.
Thursday, April 30: A Fairbank Street resident reported at 1:04 p.m. that there were three dogs on his front porch—two golden retrievers and a black lab. None were wearing dog tags, he said. Police notified the animal control officer. A student was taken by ambulance from Bromfield to Emerson Hospital at 9:40 a.m. Thieves attempting to break into a home on Old Littleton Road were scared off after an alarm sounded when they tried to kick in the door at 1:12 p.m. Police arrived on the scene within four minutes, but found no one there. (See related story on page 1.) Suspicious activity reported on South Shaker Road at 2:31 p.m. turned out to be tree work being done by a tree service company.

Saturday, May 2: A woman was taken by ambulance from a Craggs Road address to Emerson Hospital at 6:20 p.m. A Bolton Road resident reported a suspicious-looking vehicle near the orchard next to his house at 9:32 p.m., but it was gone when a police officer arrived to investigate.
Sunday, May 3: An Eldridge Road resident called at 6:14 p.m. to complain that someone was fishing in his pond without permission. The fisherman maintained that it was public land. Police advised the property owner to post “no trespassing” signs.
Monday, May 4: Police responded to the scene of an altercation reported on Fairbank Street at 7 a.m. A man reported that his neighbor had assaulted him after his dogs wandered onto the neighbor’s property. The neighbor claimed he had been assaulted as well. Both parties declined to press charges. A West Bare Hill Road resident reported at 8:53 a.m. that her mailbox had been vandalized. At 10:10 a.m. an Old Mill Road resident reported that someone had put twigs in her mailbox. At 7:27 p.m. police stopped a car on Ayer Road for a traffic violation and issued a criminal citation to the driver, who was found to be driving with a revoked registration. The car was towed and the plates were seized.
