Tuesday, April 21: The ambulance transported a man from a Hillcrest Drive address to Emerson Hospital at 1:57 p.m.
Wednesday, April 22: A man was taken by ambulance from an East Bare Hill Road address to Nashoba Valley Medical Center at 9:56 a.m. At 5:51 p.m. a woman called to ask for assistance in opening her apartment door. The fire chief responded and helped her get the door open. Ayer police requested assistance from Harvard police at 8:32 p.m. in locating a suspect who held up the Citgo gas station. The suspect was apprehended and transported by Harvard police to the Ayer police station at 10:59 p.m. Police arrested Yuri Savini, 18, of Shirley at 11:42 p.m. in connection with the theft of a motor vehicle on Partridge Hill Road. The case is under investigation.
Thursday, April 23: At 12:21 p.m. a Woodside Road resident reported that two young men in a parked red pickup truck were staring at her daughter and her daughter’s friend. An officer checked the area, but found no sign of the truck. At 3:25 p.m. someone stopped at the station seeking legal information. At 3:45 p.m. a man stopped at the station to speak with an officer about a traffic incident. A caller reported at 5:39 p.m. that there was a dead tree hanging over Bolton Road, and expressed concerns that it might fall. The Department of Public Works was notified to take care of it. At 8:36 p.m. a caller reported that there were sparks shooting from a utility pole at Prospect Hill and Old Shirley roads. National Grid was notified.
Friday, April 24: Boxborough police requested the assistance of Harvard police with a large, loud house party in that town at 2:24 a.m., but later canceled the request for help. At 1:16 p.m. a woman was taken by ambulance from a West Bare Hill Road address to Marlborough Hospital. At 1:17 p.m. the Boxborough ambulance responded to a call for help from a young man who had stepped on a nail protruding from a board while walking in the woods. He was taken to Emerson Hospital. A Stow Road resident reported at 3:54 p.m. that his son was throwing things and was “out of control.” Three officers responded and determined that it was a verbal altercation and that no further action was necessary, because the son planned to leave. At 4:22 p.m. a man reported that the pavement under his son’s parked car at Bromfield had collapsed. The DPW was notified. A caller reported at 7:50 p.m. that there was a strong odor of smoke in the area of Warren Ave. and Tahanto Trail. Firefighters checked the area, but found no fire and did not smell any smoke.
Saturday, April 25: An Ann Lee Road resident reported at 12:54 p.m. that he had given the Heimlich maneuver to a man who was choking. Ambulance personnel responded and examined the man, who refused transport to the hospital. At 1 p.m. a caller requested help in getting her cat off a neighbor’s roof. The animal control officer was notified. A Stow Road resident reported at 2:12 p.m. that his permitted fire had ignited a nearby treetop. The man had extinguished the blaze by the time firefighters arrived. A caller reported seeing burning leaves on the side of the road on West Bare Hill Road at 3:43 p.m. Firefighters responded, but found no sign of a fire. A caller who had been walking near the Holy Hill conservation area reported at 5:37 p.m. that her purse had been stolen from her parked car. The thief gained access to the car with the keys the woman left on the front tire. The woman reported seeing an older-style cream-colored four-door car in the area, but police did not locate the vehicle. The case is under investigation. At 9:44 p.m. a caller reported that a National Grid truck was blocking the roadway near Still River and Under Pin Hill roads. Officers found that the National Grid crew had just repaired a blown fuse for Camp Green Eyrie, and would be moving along. Boxborough police called the Harvard station at 9:53 p.m. to ask for assistance in locating a missing man who was ill, but later cancelled the requested when they located him.
Sunday, April 26: At 7:12 a.m. an officer on patrol removed a limb that had been reported hanging over Bolton Road on Thursday but had not yet been taken away by the DPW. He set it aside and notified the DPW that it was still there. A Still River Road resident reported at 9:35 a.m. that there appeared to be a fire in the woods nearby. Firefighters found a permitted fire in the neighborhood and determined that no further action was needed, as the fire was under control. At 12:14 p.m. a caller inquired about the status of the dead limb on the side of Bolton Road and was advised that the DPW would be taking care of it. At 4:01 p.m. Ayer police requested the assistance of Harvard police in directing traffic near an accident in that town. A Still River Road resident reported at 5:02 p.m. that youths riding in a white SUV being driven back and forth in front of his house were shouting obscenities at him and his wife. Police did not locate the vehicle. A man was taken by ambulance from an East Bare Hill Road address to Nashoba Valley Medical Center at 7:11 p.m.
Monday, April 27: A Littleton County Road resident reported hearing three gunshots in the area at 7:15 a.m. Police checked the area, but found nothing. A man stopped at the station at 11 a.m. to report a possible road rage incident. The case is under investigation. At 4:13 p.m. the Devens Fire Department requested assistance from the Harvard Fire Department with a brush fire in the Salerno Circle area. At 5:53 p.m. someone stopped at the station to speak with an officer about the route for an upcoming event. At 5:54 p.m. the Fire Department was called to extinguish a brush fire on Bolton Road.
