The Bromfield girls indoor track team celebrated Valentine’s Day by winning the Division II District E Invitational Meet in Fitchburg for the eighth consecutive year.

Coach Ray Dunn said the Trojan women won half of the 10 running events.

Bromfield individual event-winners included Emily Jones, whose time in the mile was 5:06.57; Lisa Reedich, who finished the 1,000-meter in 3:15.12; and Katherine Finnegan, who finished the 300-meter in 43.04. The girls were also victorious in the 4×800 relay and the 4×400 relay, the final events that sealed the victory. Jones and Finnegan both set event records for the meet.

The meet had some exciting finishes. “Katherine won the 300-meter by a few hundredths of a second and we lost the 4×200 by less than a second,” Dunn said.

Other noteworthy performances were turned in by Emma Rothkopf, who placed second in the mile; Kristina Kronauer and Alyssa Swindells who finished second and fourth, respectively, in the 2-mile; Sidney Durand, who placed third in the 1,000-meter; Mimi Narbonne, who placed third in the 600-meter; and Nicki Jordon, who finished sixth in the 55-meter dash.
