Still River Road resident Sue Loring has been recognized for her work with, and commitment to, individuals and families struggling with autism. Loring works as the director of Horace Mann Educational Associates’ (HMEA’s) Autism Resource Center of Central Massachusetts, in West Boylston, a program dedicated to offering individuals with autism and their families continual support through referrals, support groups, community building activities, and educational seminars in 63 towns.
The award was presented Nov. 21 at the Newton Marriott, by Advocates for Autism of Massachusetts (AFAM), an organization that seeks to improve statewide visibility of the growing number of individuals with autism.
Loring, who has a child with autism, has been employed by HMEA since December 1998.
Michael Moloney, president and CEO of HMEA, said he finds Loring to be an invaluable resource. “Sue brings passion and energy to the center. Through her dedicated work, she demonstrates a deep-seated hope that things can improve—a hope that is inspiring to all individuals and families served by HMEA.”
