I urge residents to attend the School Committee meeting Sept. 22 at 7 p.m., when the committee is scheduled to vote on extending the superintendent’s contract. With declining MCAS scores in the elementary school and declining morale among teachers, let’s make sure the committee sets some goals for the superintendent and revisits the issue of extending his contract in June. The superintendent’s contract ends in 2010. There is no rush for the School Committee to vote on the 22nd.
