Tuesday, May 20: No significant activity to report.
Wednesday, May 21: At 10:36 a.m. a caller reported that a landscape trailer was blocking part of the roadway on Ayer Road. Police asked the driver to move it. Someone stopped at the station at 2:05 p.m. to turn in an LL Bean credit card found on Brown Road. Police contacted the owner, who said it had been canceled, and asked them to destroy it. At 2:59 p.m. a caller reported finding Harvard street signs at the track on Lancaster County Road. (See related story) A woman at an Ayer Road address was taken to Nashoba Valley Medical Center at 4:16 p.m. At 6:52 p.m. a caller reported that while she was driving on Stow Road, another vehicle came up behind her, honked, and passed at a high rate of speed. She got the license number and gave it to police, who determined the vehicle belonged to a Bolton driver. Bolton police were notified.
Thursday, May 22: At 6:35 a.m. Littleton police provided coverage at the Harvard station while the Harvard officer on duty responded to a building alarm on Ayer Road. At 1:13 p.m. an officer stopped a car driven by a Harvard woman for failure to stop at a stop sign. He issued her a written warning for that offense, and issued her a summons after discovering that she was driving with a suspended license and a registration that had been revoked for lack of insurance. A woman walking on Cleaves Hill Road called the station at 4:57 p.m. to report that a car had passed her at a high rate of speed, causing her to have to jump out of the way. She got the plate number and gave it to police, who provided her with an “improper operation” form to pursue the incident with the Registry of Motor Vehicles if she chooses to do so. An officer paid a visit to the Harvard driver of the car that was allegedly speeding, to inform her of the complaint. The person denied speeding and said that the complainant had been walking in the middle of the road with a large dog.
Friday, May 23: At 2:26 a.m. Ayer police asked Harvard officers to check the Wendy’s restaurant at the Ayer Rotary, since a burglar alarm there had gone off. Police found the building secure. At 7:39 a.m. a woman was transported from Bromfield to Emerson Hospital. A young woman stopped at the station at 2 p.m. to report that items had been stolen from her pocketbook at Bromfield sometime during the day. Missing were a digital camera, some cash, and an ATM card.
Saturday, May 24: A pair of children’s sunglasses found at the soccer field and turned in at the station at 11:45 a.m. have not been claimed. The owner can contact the dispatch center. At 1:02 p.m. a black duffel bag containing drug paraphernalia was found in the Bromfield parking lot. The incident is under investigation. At 6:20 p.m. a woman was transported from a Stow Road address to Emerson Hospital.
Sunday, May 25: At 36 minutes past midnight police stopped a bicycler on Ayer road and advised him it was unsafe to ride at night with only a dimly-lit headlamp on the bike. Police responded to the report of a suspicious-looking car in the driveway of an Old Littleton Road home at 2:41 a.m. The vehicle had left by the time police arrived, but they stopped it later and summonsed the operator for speeding (45 mph in a 30-mph zone) and possession of marijuana. At 5:49 a.m. a caller reported vandalism at the Shaker Hills golf course. (See related story) Horses reported loose on Bolton Road at 10:40 a.m. were rounded up and returned to their owner. A caller on Littleton Road notified police at 11:05 a.m. that the lights in his garage were on, and he didn’t remember leaving them on. Police responded, but found nothing unusual in the area. At 5 p.m. a caller on Still River Road reported that his bike had been stolen from the bicycle rack on his car. A cell phone found on Depot Road was turned in at 8:04 p.m. and is still at the station.
Monday, May 26: Police checked and secured a residence on Old Mill Road at 8:38 p.m. after seeing a porch door open and lights on. They checked the area and found no damage or evidence of anything suspicious.
