Best deal all around

May 30, 2008

Perhaps the headline on page one of the May 23 Harvard Press should have read “Bromfield athletic program: the best deal for the town.” Bromfield sports engage students in healthy and fun activities, funded by volunteers and other parties with a vested interest, such as the Harvard Athletic Association, at little or no expense to taxpayers. Involvement in sports and other extracurricular activities helps students budget their time and focus better on their studies, with lots of student athletes making the honor roll when their sports are in season. How can this be anything but the best deal for the town of Harvard?
